Global 360 Introduces New Features for Unified Communications and Workforce Management by Robbie Pleasant

Global 360 has recently announced that new enhancements are on the way for their persona-based BPM software suite. With the addition of Workforce Manager for work allocation and optimization, along with the integration of Microsoft Lync, Global 360 is now one of the earliest BPMS providers to support Communications Enabled Business Processes (CEBP) across the process management lifecycle.

The enhancements will enable Global 360 to incorporate Microsoft Lync through an easily-installed web portal integrated to the application. With it, users can connect with others to reach decisions quickly and improve customer responsiveness without having to leave their workspace.

The Workforce Manager capability for Global 360 enables managers to optimize the workload for large teams, allocating work based on backlog, processing time, individual skills, and availability, while synchronizing work demands within the Global 360 BPM Suite.

“The Global 360 announcement of embedding Microsoft Lync 2010 Unified Communication functionality directly into their Business Process Management software is a perfect example what we at UCStrategies have highlighted as UC-B (UC-Business Process) for the past four years," says UCStrategies Expert Marty Parker. "Now, enterprises can specify and present communication tools directly within their workflow definitions. It is exciting to see Global360, which is ranked as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites, recognize the value of UC as ‘communications integrated to optimize business processes.’ This integrated product seems very likely to save significant time and money by removing the communication hot spots that exist in most business processes.”

This article is incorrect. G360 are not the the first BPMS provider to support Communications Enabled Business Processes (CEBP) across the process management lifecycle.

At v5.1 of the TotalAgility product, launched in April 2011, Singularity has given process designers to ability to embed Microsoft Lync within their business processes. Most notably this integration delivers guided collaboration and allows process designers to automatically route instances of the process or case based on presence status.

Thank you for informing me of this, Peter. The press release I was given the information from said that Global 360 was first, so I did not think to question it, and I was unaware of TotalAgility 5.1. I will correct this error immediately.
