Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NET) founded in 1983, develops and sells voice and data communications equipment for multi-service networks. The Company’s products are highly versatile, offering government and enterprise customer’s cost effective networks with high levels of interoperability, security and performance. Its products are purpose-built for mixed-service, multi-protocol networks; bandwidth-sensitive site communications; high performance, security-sensitive transmissions, and converged communications. The Company delivers solutions that enable integration and migration of existing networks to secure Internet protocol (IP)-based voice and data communications. In December 2007, the Company completed the acquisition of Quintum Technologies, an enterprise voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) access switching and gateway solutions provider, enabling NET to provide a solution for any size company, from small SMB to global enterprise.
Voice and Mobility Products
NET’s product lines serving the voice and mobility markets are the VX Series and Quintum Series Intelligent Voice Switches and Gateways. The VX Series offers enterprise customers a VoIP solution that interoperates with existing private branch exchange (PBX) and IP-PBX systems, and offers government customers an IP-based secure voice solution with high bandwidth efficiency and call performance. The Quintum Series addresses VoIP switching and gateway technologies for small- to mid-sized businesses.
Enterprise-Class Integration for Microsoft® Unified Communications
The VX Series and Quintum Series Intelligent Voice UC Gateways have been qualified under the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program for Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging, Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (R2). The VX Series gateways are specifically designed to provide the enterprise-class integration, interoperability, security and scalability required for successful adoption of Microsoft’s Unified Messaging and Unified Communications into new and existing voice and PBX environments.
The VX Series and Quintum Series are qualified for Direct SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). Direct SIP qualification for gateways and IP-PBXs ensures that customers have seamless experiences with setup, support, and use of qualified telephony gateways and IP-PBXs with the Microsoft unified communications platform. Only products that meet rigorous and extensive testing requirements and conform to interoperability specifications achieve qualification under this program.
