Toshiba announces that VIPedge features are now available for iOS users through the enhanced Call Manager Mobile. HTML5-based Call Manager Mobile lets users manage instant messages and take office calls on their mobile phones. It also provides users access to Toshiba’s cloud-based VIPedge business telephone solution.

Call Manager Mobile integrates Toshiba’s IPMobility technology, which offers a single-number reach for incoming and outgoing calls. IPMobility technology enables users to have only one office phone number that can make and receive calls on several endpoint devices. In addition, IPMobility integration gives users access to various system calling features, including call record, call transfer, and direct-extension dialing.

“Toshiba is pleased to announce its new Call Manager Mobile solution for iPhones, now joining the Android version with more OS platforms to come. Toshiba will continue to meet the BYOD demands of its customers by delivering solutions that meet the various device requirements of its end customers,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems’ Telecommunication Systems Division, in a prepared statement. “With Call Manager Mobile, VIPedge delivers a seamless user experience both in the office and on the road.”

Call Manager Mobile can handle single and group instant messaging sessions, with support for multiple simultaneous ones. Broadcast messages can also be sent by users. Toshiba’s Call Manager Mobile offers both telephone and XMPP-based enhanced presence state information. Every VIPedge customer also gets an XMPP server instance.

In February 2013, Call Manager Mobile’s was first released for Android. This latest release makes it available for iPhones that run on iOS R5 or R6. Toshiba says that Call Manager Mobile will soon work with other operating systems, including OS X and Windows. Toshiba will also federate Call Manager Mobile with Google Talk and Microsoft Lync, among others. (KOM) Link. Link.
