NEC Launches SL2100 Smart Communications System by Robbie Pleasant

NEC Corporation of America has launched a new communications system, aimed at small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) in North America. This new offering, the SL2100 Smart Communications System, is designed to provide enterprise-grade mobility and unified communications and collaboration (UCC) features for businesses that are focused on customer service and want to provide an improved customer experience.

This new system is a step up from NEC’s SL1100, as the name would suggest. It offers a number of new features from the previous version, along with improved quality intended to make it comparable with the systems used by large enterprises at a price point SMBs can afford.

The SL2100 provides voice over IP (VoIP), mobility, and UCC features intended to match those of enterprises, along with industry-specific features. Given that varying industries require certain different features, it has different offerings for retail, healthcare, food service, entertainment, and hospitality.

Features of the SL2100 include: voicemail, music on hold, support for mobility and remote workers, auto attendant, audio/video conferencing and collaboration, call recording, and WebRTC. Additionally, there are a number of Smart Mobility options for users, such as remote/home office support, mobile wireless handsets, smartphone SIP app, and mobile extensions.

NEC’s SL2100 Smart Communications System is currently available in North America, though there is no word yet on when it will be released for the rest of the world. For more information, visit www.necam.com.
