Toshiba Business Solutions Expand With the Jabra GO 6470 by UCStrategies Staff
The Telecommunication Systems Division, one of the three business units of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced its alliance with Jabra, a company that develops and manufactures a range of hands-free communications solutions. Since 2007, the said Toshiba department and Jabra have been working together to develop integrated unified communications solutions.
The announcement of the deal between the two companies specifies the certification of interoperability of the Jabra GO 6470 headset with Toshiba’s SoftIPT softphone and desk phones, two business communication solutions that work with Toshiba’s IPedge and Strata CIX IP business telephone systems. In addition, the hands-free Jabra GO 6470 is also made compatible with the cloud-based VIPedge of Toshiba.
Toshiba’s VIPedge cloud service can support up to 60 users at a time. The IPedge and Strata CIX systems, on the other hand, can support from eight to 1,000 users. Both IPedge and Strata CIX systems offer VoIP, voicemail and unified messaging, conferencing and collaboration, UC applications, networking, mobility, and more.
The Jabra GO 6470 headset is touted to be able to connect to three devices simultaneously. With the headset, the user can make and receive calls from the desk, mobile, and softphones. The headset’s Bluetooth wireless technology also lets users take calls while on the road by connecting the headset to a mobile phone. Jabra is said to design the headset with mobile workers in mind.
Jabra’s GO 6400 Series, the headset line by which the GO 6470 has been developed, is equipped with Noise Blackout technology to provide high-quality audio. Three wearing styles are also available to enhance user experience.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with JABRA,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of the Telecommunication Systems Division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. “The new certification of Jabra GO 6470 headset ensures our customers that it is compatible and well integrated with Toshiba's IPedge, VIPedge and Strata CIX business telephone systems as well as Toshiba's desk telephones and softphone products.”
“This certification further exemplifies our commitment to ensuring that our products are interoperable with Toshiba’s SoftIPT softphone, desk phones and unified communications offerings,” said Pete Fox, president of Jabra North America. “As more and more workers migrate towards multiple forms of UC voice communication, the GO 6470 meets those demands and comes fully equipped with multiuse technology and an easy-to-use touch screen experience.” (KOM) Link.
