Polycom Announces Meeting Q3 Earning Expectations by UCStrategies Staff

Polycom recently announced that it has attained its Q3 earnings goals with a total of $335 million in revenue. Although this figure is below the 2011 quota, the company did match Wall Street’s predictions this time. This quarter’s revenue follows a considerably balanced previous quarter and continues Polycom’s even keel.

The company, a leading provider of video conferencing solutions, announced a net loss of $15 million (8 cents per share) in 2012, compared to a net income of $20 million (11 cents per share) in the previous year. In spite of a slight slump from 2011, Polycom still managed to exceed Wall Street’s targets. Industry analysts predicted that Polycom would report Q3 revenue of 8 cents per share on a total of $331 million.

“Demand for our best in class UC&C solutions was solid in Q3, which allowed us to come in at the high end of our revenue expectations and exceed our earnings expectations. We have been taking market share in 2012 as a result of our open standards-based Polycom RealPresence Platform and compelling cost of ownership advantage,” Polycom CEO and president Andrew M. Miller explained.

“Earlier this month on October 8, we unveiled a comprehensive set of breakthrough products launching in Q4 2012 and early 2013, that we believe will further distance us from the competition, expand our total addressable market, and drive mass adoption of video collaboration,” Miller added.

Polycom did not make a forecast for the coming fourth quarter, but if Wall Street’s predictions hold any bearing, the company will announce a revenue of $359.5 million with earnings of 15 cents per share.

Polycom In Summary
