Plantronics Launches Blackwire 700 Corded and Bluetooth by UCStrategies Staff
Plantronics announced the release of its Blackwire 700 line of crossover USB headsets designed for PC, multimedia, and mobile calling. With Plantronics’ latest mobile calling solution, the issues of missing calls on a mobile device while working on a desktop, making a softphone call, and listening to music are all eliminated. The corded USB headsets, tailored for all-day use, allow users to connect simultaneously to their mobile devices and to their PCs.
In addition, the Blackwire 700 line of headsets is equipped with Plantronics’ Smart Sensor technology, which is claimed to impart high-quality audio even when the user is on the go. With the Smart Sensor technology, the Blackwire 700 headsets can automatically route calls and pause music when they are worn by users.
The flexible headset frame can also connect to a mobile phone or tablet that has a Bluetooth-enabled connection. When away from their desk, users can make calls on their mobile devices because the Blackwire 700 comes with a detachable cable and a built-in clothing clip. The maximum talk time is up to 10 hours.
This latest mobile calling solution from Plantronics also contains sensors that can detect whether or not a user is wearing the headset. The sensors work with the Blackwire 700 features allowing the user to answer a call simply by placing the headset and automatically pausing multimedia apps like Pandora or iTunes on the mobile device when the user removes the headset. Furthermore, the sensors make it possible to transmit audio from the mobile device to the headset once it is worn by the user and vice versa when it is taken off by the user.
The Plantronics Spokes software can be downloaded by the users of the Blackwire 700 line of headsets. The software is said to enhance the experience of using the corded USB headset. The Plantronics Spokes software can customize the settings of the sensor, thus allowing users to manage and control their calls across multiple softphones.
“There are some big trends happening at work – people are working in open offices and people are bringing their own devices to work. This presents challenges such as privacy and multi-device connectivity. The Blackwire 700 is the industry’s first corded USB headset, designed for softphone calls and listening to music that also allows people to take a mobile phone call on-the-go when privacy is desired,” said Amy Huson, senior director of Enterprise Marketing at Plantronics.
