ESW Capital, LLC, has announced a new acquisition, with the purchase of Jive Software, Inc., which will be joining its Aurea family of companies. The acquisition was completed through its affiliate, Wave Systems, and has been unanimously approved by Jive’s Board of Directors.

Jive was one of the early “Enterprise 2.0” providers of enterprise social software, and its solutions are used by more than 30 million people around the world in almost 1,000 companies.

Aurea Software is known for acquiring software companies in order to strengthen them, innovate, and grow. Its current solutions include CRM, customer engagement, CX platforms, and more, so by adding Jive to its family, it will obtain the Interactive Intranet and Customer Community solutions that Jive is known for. Together, the companies will be able to create the end-to-end experience that they believe employees and customers seek.

For those of you  not familiar with ESW Capital and Aurea, Aurea is a technology solutions provider that delivers transformative customer experiences to over 1,500 customers worldwide, including Disney, British Airways, Bank of America, United Healthcare and MetLife.
 
In the coming months, Aurea and Jive will combine to bring the power of their respective platforms to the task of optimizing employee and customer experiences for improved business outcomes.

According to Blair Pleasant, co-founder of UCStrategies, “Jive offers solutions for both enterprise social and customer communities. The acquisition announcement focuses on how Jive’s solutions will become part of Aurea’s customer experience management platform, so it would appear that the enterprise social collaboration focus will go away, and the real focus will be CRM and customer experience.” She adds, “As companies like Cisco, Microsoft, Slack, and others provided more advanced collaboration solutions, and tied them in with other applications using APIs, they were able to provide offerings that include the social aspect of Jive, while going beyond what a company like Jive was able to accomplish on its own. While some of my peers have been saying that this acquisition shows that it’s the end of an era for enterprise social, I believe that this acquisition demonstrates the importance of integrating enterprise social, as well as collaboration and team messaging capabilities, with other applications, such as CRM.”

Completion of the acquisition is still subject to customary closing conditions, and it is expected that the transaction will be completed by June 2017.
