IntelePeer Grows UC Capabilities with Vidtel Videoconferencing by UCStrategies Staff
IntelePeer, a provider of cloud communications, has expanded its unified communications capabilities by integrating Vidtel’s MeetMe into its SIP trunking portfolio. MeetMe is a cloud-based videoconferencing service. The new IntelePeer-Vidtel solution is available now and is demonstrated at INFOCOMM13 from June 12 to 14, 2013 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
In a prepared statement, Vidtel CEO Scott Wharton said that it was obvious that businesses around the world were moving their communications to the cloud. Wharton explained, “Historically, video conferencing solutions have been too expensive and unwieldy for businesses to adopt. With the IntelePeer and Vidtel joint cloud-based solution, organizations now get all of the benefits of video conferencing, but with none of the traditional operational and economic barriers that have hampered deployment.”
The joint solution from IntelePeer and Vidtel would enable participants to join conferences from a range of devices, including conventional video technologies, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. The platform is claimed to have been completely hosted, therefore there is no investment required for additional equipment.
Vidtel’s MeetMe service delivers videoconferencing through traditional SIP and H.323 hardware endpoints, as well as SIP soft clients like Cisco Jabber, WebRTC-based browsers, and consumer apps like Google Talk and Skype.
“We are expanding the HD audio and video capabilities of IntelePeer’s CloudWorx platform with the Vidtel offering by enabling multiparty video conferencing between a vast array of devices,” said Margaret Norton, chief marketing officer at IntelePeer. “Through this innovative partnership, organizations gain access to a comprehensive suite of communications and collaboration enablement solutions, all delivered as an easily accessed, over-the-top cloud service.”
IntelePeer sells the new service along with the company’s CoreCloud UC and SIP Trunking solutions. (KOM) Link. Link.
