IBM Releases IBM Connections 3.01 by Robbie Pleasant
In order to help organizations benefit from social business, IBM announced that it is expanding its software portfolio with the delivery of IBM Connections 3.01, a social networking platform with real-time compliance capabilities.
With IBM Connections, organizations can follow data on the go. Rather than waiting days to analyze the information it gathers, the information can be analyzed in real-time using the IBM Connections active compliance service.
As social media has become an important part of today's businesses, IBM Connections 3.01 software allows for collaboration with clients, partners, and employees over microblogs, wikis, communities, and activities. The social networking platform has enterprise-quality compliance capabilities, allowing it to track, monitor, and access relevant data from conversations, posts, and file uploads as they happen.
These compliance capabilities will be provided through a collaboration with Actiance. IBM will release Actiance Vantage for IBM Connections, which archives and logs social content, in the third quarter.
“Social networking is an important new element of unified communications, especially as that enables optimization of business processes that depend on community interactions and collaborations or that benefit from rapid access to knowledge and expertise within the firm," says UCStrategies Co-Founder Marty Parker. "IBM’s partnership with Actiance to provide effective regulatory compliance and discovery tools for social networks continues to show IBM’s commitment to effective social networking in both private and public sector enterprises.”
