Cisco Launches New Deployment Model for Cisco Quad Platform
Cisco Launches New Deployment Model for Cisco Quad Platform by Robbie Pleasant
Cisco, at Enterprise 2.0, announced the offering of its Cisco Quad enterprise collaboration platform in a hosted and managed deployment model. This new option extends choice and flexibility in implementation of the platform, while creating professional services and integration opportunities for Cisco's channel partners.
The upcoming release of Quad 2.5 will include pre-built integrations with content management and instant messaging platforms, along with a new mobile application for the Cisco Cius Tablet. With a broad set of capabilities and a comprehensive set of services designed for fast engagement and adoption, it allows business workers to create virtual workgroups, find and interact with colleagues, share files and videos, and start web conferences and chat sessions instantly.
Also among the announcements was that Capgemini, a Cisco systems integration partner, will consult organizations about their Cisco Quad deployments, working with customers to adapt their collaboration methodology.
Cisco Quad customers can choose between an on-premises deployment or a partner hosted and managed dedicated offering. Mid-market companies can affordably take advantage of Quad’s collaborative capabilities.
"As organizations realize that their workers require and even demand social software tools, more and more will turn to enterprise-grade social media solutions that provide the security and privacy their companies require," says Blair Pleasant of UCStrategies. "By adding new capabilities and new integrations, such as with IBM Sametime, the value of Cisco Quad is enhanced, providing a more compelling solution for companies that want to migrate to an enterprise social media solution. And by providing more options for implementing Cisco Quad, such as hosted or premise based, Cisco and its partners are helping to spread the use of enterprise social media, which will enable more companies to enhance their collaborative communication capabilities."
