AeroFS Releases New Amium Collaboration Platform
AeroFS Releases New Amium Collaboration Platform by Robbie Pleasant
AeroFS has released a new version of its Amium collaboration platform. This new release is designed to provide a content-centric collaboration environment that can work just as well with people inside and outside of the organization, and is available now.
Amium is AeroFS’s flagship collaboration platform, optimized for intuitive and efficient real-time communications. It allows teams and individuals to work with outside users at no extra cost or effort, which is particularly useful when working with contractors, freelancers, or clients. Outside users need to have an Amium account to collaborate, but Amium users can send file links to allow users to access documents without an account. While many solutions can enable guest users, Amium includes real-time updates, communication, and project management from a single location, so outside users receive the exact same tools as those inside.
Furthermore, Amium uses flexible group and direct messaging, along with automated file syncing and updating on a single platform. Both internal and external users leave an audit trail of interactions and feedback, to ensure information isn’t lost along the way.
With this new version of Amium, the platform now offers real-time collaboration with external or third-party users, who can be invited into projects at no additional cost. It also combines file sync and share with real-time chats, so all conversations about projects are easily organized and maintained. There’s also the new Amium Projects feature, which combines files, folders, and conversations together by project, allowing for easy organization, archiving, and sorting.
According to AeroFS, collaboration tools like Slack let you bring in a guest, but the guest has to create a new account on your team. This creates situations where people are signed up for multiple teams and need to switch between them to be able to collaborate. Amium consolidates all of this into one environment.
According to Blair Pleasant, co-founder of UCStrategies, “The number of collaboration solutions is increasing regularly, and vendors need to find ways to differentiate themselves. By bringing real-time conversations to the file, rather than the other way around, AeroFS provides a ‘content-centric collaboration solution’ that focuses on ensuring that teams have a central repository for files that stay synched and updated, removing some of the frustration and challenges that most workers face on a daily basis.”
Amium is available on Mac, Windows, and Linux computers, as well as iOS and Android devices. The free version includes up to two projects and 2GB of storage, but users can upgrade to unlimited projects and 100GB of file storage per user by switching to the paid version at $9 per user per month.
