AudioCodes Releases Session Experience Manager by Robbie Pleasant

AudioCodes has recently introduced the Session Experience Manager (SEM), a software solution made to monitor, analyze, control, and report on the quality of enterprise voice calling in real-time.

SEM is built to be an intuitive and easy-to-use solution with a variety of advanced tools for a continuous and comprehensive view of voice quality of experience at both the enterprise network level and for any connecting trunks. This includes such tools as network views to map devices and their voice quality, graphic illustrations of VoIP call metrics, traffic trend analysis, and pre-defined reports. It not only analyzes VoIP, but fax transmission quality as well.

The Session Experience Manager supports the AudioCodes Mediant family of Media Gateways and Enterprise Session Border Controls, and is integrated with AudioCodes' Element Management System to enable IT managers to update their configuration of networking devices to quickly solve certain quality of experience issues it may detect. It removes the need for hardware-based probing elements and can be deployed as a virtualized solution for maximum flexibility.

“Ensuring end-to-end quality of voice calls with Microsoft Lync is critical to driving Enterprise Voice adoption," says Kevin Kieller, UCStrategies Expert. "SEM from AudioCodes looks like just the tool to help deliver the needed reliability.”

Kieller adds, “I have been involved in many projects where AudioCodes devices enabled Microsoft Lync Enterprise Voice. The SEM initiative appears to be addressing the key need to monitor, measure and allow organizations to deliver rock-solid, end-to-end voice services with Lync."

According to Russell Bennett, UCStrategies UC Expert, “Providing good audio quality over IP networks can be a significant challenge if either the network or the audio technology are sub-optimal. The ability to pinpoint the causes of poor audio quality is essential for ensuring a superior user experience.”

AudioCodes will exhibit Session Experience Manager at Enterprise Connect 2012 in booth #1136. For more information, visit www.audiocodes.com

There is another tool called PBXMate (https://www.solicall.com/products.html#PBXMate) that enables real-time analysis of audio quality (e.g. noise level, gain level etc) and network quality (e.g. packet loss, delay). In addition this tool can improve the audio quality, in real time. I guess also from price perspective the PBXMate will turn out to be less expensive than the SEM. Nevertheless, there is one disadvantages of the PBXMate: It works only on VoIP and can not handle other protocols.
