Transcript for WebRTC Conf & Expo - Bistri
Blair Pleasant: This is Blair Pleasant. I am in at the WebRTC Expo and I am with some folks from Bistri. This is Arnaud and Antoine and they are with Bistri, and they’re going to show us a demonstration and talk a little bit about the company and what it does.
Arnaud/Antoine: So Bistri is a free over the top service.
Blair Pleasant: So for people who do not know what is “over the top?”
Arnaud: Over the top, it means like we are the closest as possible from the users. We provide the service for the user. Specifically, on the browser.
Blair Pleasant: Okay.
Arnaud: So basically, when you create an account on Bistri, you now have the opportunity to create a link. And you spread this link all over the web, on computer, on Facebook, also your email signature in order to be reached. So, if I am searching my name on Google, I can find my LinkedIn profile.
Antoine: So, I would do it under that. I am a guy who is trying to call Arnaud. I find his profile on LinkedIn and then on his profile I can see a link to call him so I just click on it. I have nothing to install and it is launching the call through the browser. I am asked to put my name and then it will be presented to Arnaud as an incoming call.
Blair Pleasant: And there it is.
Arnaud: So I can see that the person, Tony, is trying to reach me from my LinkedIn profile. I can see a picture of the page.
Arnaud and Antoine: And then here we are.
Antoine: And we can be full screen, full WebRTC, full HTML5 and telescripts.
Blair Pleasant: And this is live?
Antoine: Yes.
Blair Pleasant: Working, obviously, because I am there.
Antoine: Yes.
Antoine: We can make some nice video effects if we want.
Blair Pleasant: Wow. Look at that.
Antoine: And if you think it’s a good idea, you can make snapshots of it. So let’s do a snapshot. I will need Arnaud to make a smile. And then if the snapshot is okay, I can save it. It will send it also to Arnaud.
Blair Pleasant: Very interesting.
Arnaud: And if you like your snapshot, you can share it of course on Twitter or Facebook. If you want to keep it private, just don’t do anything.
Antoine: So now, the call is finished and I say bye-bye to Arnaud, but if I forgot to say something to him, if I don’t close the window, I can still make another call just by clicking on it. Hello again, Arnaud.
Arnaud: Hi, Tony. I have a surprise for you.
Antoine: So what do you do? Oh, you are sending a file to me. Wow!
Blair Pleasant: Oh, the award you won.
Antoine: You got an award. That is great.
Blair Pleasant: What did you win the award for?
Arnaud: It was in the “Beyond the Call” category.
Antoine: At the demonstration contest of WebRTC World 2012.
Blair Pleasant: Well congratulations on the award, and thank you very much for the demonstration.
Antoine: Thank you.
Arnaud: Thank you.
