Sonus Sees Productivity Gains, Significant ROI After Lync Implementation

Sonus Networks is a leading provider of session border controllers (SBCs) and networked solutions that support Unified Communications (UC). According to a recent survey, three out of every four enterprises have partially or fully deployed UC environments*—a trend that is driving the demand for SBCs as enterprises look to unify their voice, video and IM communications across geographically dispersed networks. That was the case in 2012 when Sonus acquired Network Equipment Technologies (NET), an SBC and VoIP gateway vendor based in Fremont, California that had recently migrated its own communications network to Microsoft Lync. In order to foster better collaboration between the newly merged companies, Sonus decided to deploy Lync UC across its entire global enterprise using its own Lync-qualified SBCs as the foundation.
