UCStrategies Experts Host UC University at ITEXPO by Robbie Pleasant
UCStrategies’ UC Experts Blair Pleasant and Phil Edholm will host UC University, aimed at giving attendees a “graduate degree in unified communications,” on August 11-14, 2014, at The Rio in Las Vegas. Collocated with ITEXPO, UC University will provide an introduction to all aspects of Unified Communications for anyone preparing to deploy a UC solution for their organization or looking to learn more about getting the most out of their UC solution.
Drilling down beyond the basics, the all-day conference will cover a variety of topics to help organizations do the proper planning necessary for a successful UC deployment. Conference sessions will focus on understanding and building use cases, identifying return on investment, vendor selection, and developing a UC strategy.
The event is aimed at CIOs, IT Managers, Telecom professionals, business managers, and anyone who is considering deploying a UC solution for their organization now or in the future. The in-depth sessions and educational format will provide attendees with the knowledge and tools they need to make an informed decision. Information and technology professionals can gain a deeper understanding of UC solutions and identify the value and ROI of UC before gaining approval on a deployment, while line of business managers will get insights into how UC solutions can improve productivity and make their organizations more competitive.
The conference kicks off with basic level setting and an overview of Unified Communications, and then moves into a session on “Understanding the UC Deployment Options,” discussing cloud, premises-based, and hybrid options, various types of architectures and platforms, and a brief vendor overview. “UC Benefits and Building the Return Side of the Business Case” focuses on identifying various use cases and helping attendees build and identify their own use cases. The afternoon sessions drill down into selecting vendors, developing a UC Deployment and Implementation Strategy, managing the UC deployment, strategies and best practices for increasing user adoption, and calculating the expected return on investment of a UC solution.
All participants will receive and learn to use the UCStrategies UC Benefit and ROI Analysis Tool to help them analyze the benefits Unified Communications can bring to their organizations, including ROI and a cost/benefits comparison. Additionally, they will receive a quantitative vendor analysis tool to help them identify and select the right vendors for their organizations’ specific needs and requirements.
According to Blair Pleasant, “Moving to a UC solution or service can be daunting for many organizations, as there are many decisions to be made regarding the technology, vendors, use cases, and more. Phil and I developed UC University to help organizations build the business case for UC, understand what’s needed to successfully purchase and deploy a solution, and get the desired user adoption.” She adds, “We’ll pack as much as possible into a one-day educational conference, while giving attendees the tools they need to move forward.”
