Vidyo Reaches 10th Anniversary and 100th Patent by Robbie Pleasant

It seems a fitting time to congratulate Vidyo Inc., which is celebrating its 10th year anniversary. What better way to celebrate than by surpassing 100 patents? That would seem to be what Vidyo is doing, having reached 100 a few months ago, and is now at 108 patents worldwide.

Vidyo Inc. was established in 2005, and was awarded its first patent in 2009. On July 7th, 2015, it was issued its 100th, reaching an important milestone for the company.

The cornerstone of Vidyo’s portfolio is the VidyoRouter, which is designed to optimize video streams in multi-party conferences without transcoding. Vidyo has also gone mobile, bringing its platform to smart phones and tablets, and allows for recording and streaming of video calls and conferences, and it enables conferencing over private IP networks and public internet.

A wide range of organizations use its platform, including healthcare providers, financial institutions, software developers, system integrators, and education and research organizations, allowing them to efficiently communicate and improve workflows via video. For instance, healthcare patients can have a video interaction with their physicians over a smartphone, making for quick access to face-to-face conversations.

“Since its founding, Vidyo has been driving innovation in video,” says Phil Edholm, UCStrategies’ UC Expert. “For a new and focused company, having over 100 patents is a strong indication of capability and innovation. The Vidyo R&D team should be proud.”

So congratulations to all those at Vidyo, for reaching your tenth year and 100th patent. We look forward to seeing what will come in future years.
