Startups Offered One Year of Free Cloud From ProfitBricks by UCStrategies Staff

ProfitBricks, a new cloud infrastructure provider which entered the market recently, stated earlier this year that it plans to release a pay-per-minute cloud service; it is now saying it will provide startup companies with one year of free cloud service.

Those eligible for access to ProfitBricks' virtual data centers are companies with under $1 million in revenue; they will be able to utilize this in conjunction with a cloud server for one year. Furthermore, a 20 percent discount will also be offered to those companies that make use of other infrastructure services (memory, CPUs, etc.) from ProfitBricks.

The company aspires to discourage customers from using other established infrastructure service vendors like Amazon Web Services, Rackspace and Microsoft Windows Azure.

The vice president of marketing at Boston-based ProfitBricks, William Toll, said: “Startups are very important to us. We want to deepen our relationship with the community and build a program around it.”

The release of a new data center architecture in September of this year, marked the point when  ProfitBricks impacted the cloud infrastructure market. Users were, as a result, able to access cheaper and more flexible cloud services with a pay-per-minute plan and able to change workloads as needed.

The pricing of this service varies from other cloud server workloads with established cloud infrastructure providers. Such commonly used cloud providers entrust that customers will choose a server size with CPU, RAM and included storage, and have additional servers as required and pre-scheduled a year, a month, or a week in advance.

A pay-per-use cloud pricing structure was announced by Hewlett-Packard last week, and comes included in its HP FlexNetwork Utility Advantage Program which has been made available to communications service providers.

Managed network solutions like cloud services, pay-per-use basis, and helping service providers who deploy new revenue opportunities with no capital investment are all on offer from the HP program. (CY) Link
