Sophos Cloud Security Solution for Channel Partners

Sophos UTM Connected has been made available by Sophos, and marks the introduction of UTM managed endpoint protection with unique Web in Endpoint functionality, broader wireless coverage for large scale wireless deployments and higher performance networking, and ensures that channel partners can work securely.

Sophos offers a solution to businesses in or entering the cloud. The research vice president at IDC, Charles Kolodgy, said: “Small businesses face many of the same security challenges as do large enterprises—a distributed workforce and doing more with fewer resources.”

The latest version of Sophos’ UTM solution featured Web in Endpoint functionality means that security layers are able to communicate and merge in order to provide better protection. The user experience is made simpler, and offers a higher level of protection and reliability.

The combination of gateway, endpoint and cloud technology means that administrators are offered full web protection and control for endpoints outside the corporate network. Integration also means total oversight and security for endpoints are enabled, like they are in the office. Updates on policies and reporting data accessed in near real-time will be possible for every protected endpoint.

SophosLabs supports Sophos web protection, and the former is the global network of threat intelligence centers which the company uses to identify and protect against tens of thousands of infected URLs and variants of malicious code. UTM Endpoint and Web Protection customers are provided with Web in Endpoint free of charge.

Businesses are able to accelerate VPN access securely with the UTM Wireless capabilities, and wireless bridging and support means that access points can reach further and are able to broaden the reach of the wireless range. Load balancing and failover of traffic between IPsec VPN tunnels is also simple for channel partners to set up.
