It was announced at the Lync Conference 2013 today that snom technology AG had completed testing their UC Edition IP phones with Microsoft Lync 2013. At present, snom is demonstrating the capabilities of the 7xx series at the Lync event which is being held in San Diego, California.
According to the COO of snom technology, Michael Knieling, “snom has a long history of leadership with Lync interoperability. We were the first SIP phones qualified for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (OCS R2) and Lync 2010, so we’re excited to continue our unique partnership as Microsoft upgrades to Lync 2013. We’re looking forward to demonstrating our snom UC Edition portfolio at the inaugural Lync Conference, and we’re proud to help sponsor this event.”
snom’s UC Edition phones were the first SIP endpoints in the industry, which were also successful in attaining the highest designation status, “Qualified,” for interoperability with Microsoft Lync Server 2013. At present, snow 710, 720 and 760 are the IP phones which are part of a group of six devices which earned the “Qualified” status.
Microsoft Lync Server 2013 is an enterprise-ready UC platform which connects people on Windows 8 and other devices, from various locations. It offers the ability to instant message, experience presence, have voice and video conversations, and use meeting tools, and the interoperability with snom UC Edition phones will do much to further the enhancement of UC offerings.
