ShoreTel releases its new cordless IP 930D business phone and details about the expanded system management capabilities of web-based application ShoreTel Director.

ShoreTel IP 930D Cordless Phone

ShoreTel claims that its new enterprise cordless phone ShoreTel IP 930D is able to address the need of business organizations for complete telephony features and in-building roaming capabilities.

The company says that while other DECT phones are limited to offering only the basic single line features, its cordless IP 930D has the full set of features found in ShoreTel IP desk phones, including access to enterprise directory and multiple line appearances.

In addition, the new cordless solution does not “sacrifice quality for mobility,” which ShoreTel claims is something often seen among alternative cordless versions of enterprise phones. With IP 930D, the user does not have to be present behind the desk in order to manage incoming calls or to keep an eye on shared extensions. ShoreTel also touts that the new cordless IP 930D business phone has enough talk and standby times to take in a full day of calls.

In related news, ShoreTel has recently announced the release of ShoreTel Dock, a device docking station that can transform an iPad or an iPhone into a desk phone complete with a handset, keypad, and a speakerphone.

New System Management Capabilities to ShoreTel Director

The web-based management portal ShoreTel Director gets new enhancements to its diagnostics and monitoring capabilities. ShoreTel Director aids system administrators in recognizing and resolving network issues to meet performance metrics for unified communications and voice applications.

ShoreTel Director’s diagnostics and monitoring interface is said to deliver “clear visibility across the system” along with pertinent data, which can be collected and combined in a specific format. Using a PC, Mac, or an iPad, a user can generate performance reports off the web-based management portal from any location.

“Diagnostics and Monitoring is a critical component for all unified communications applications,” said Don Joos, senior vice president of business operations at ShoreTel. “This leads to faster resolution of network issues, which further lowers total cost of ownership.” (KOM) Link. Link.
