ProCloud Managed Services Program From Adtran by UCStrategies Staff

A new managed services program has been launched by Adtran, called ProCloud, and is part of a broader services program from Adtran called ProServices. This allows partners to go-to-market with either Adtran or a self-branded Wi-Fi-as-a-service offering.

ProServices also includes other programs such as ProStart, which offers installation services, and ProCare, which provides maintenance services.

However, ProCloud will be most beneficial to partners, as it will allow them to broaden the reach of and develop their own managed network services practice.

There are two models to the ProCloud program. Solution providers are targeted in the first model, and those that do not have a managed services practice, bandwidth or resources will benefit most from this. Adtran states that this first model is a complete turnkey managed services provision to partners, and means that Adtran will not only host the Wi-Fi-as-a-service in its own data center, but also through conducting actual management of the services on the partner’s behalf.

The director of product management at Adtran, Todd Lattanzi, said: “One of the things that really makes us unique in this space is that [partners] can start with a complete turnkey version. Literally, just sell a deal, order a part number and you're done. You're in the managed services business.”

According to Adtran, the company offers what it calls a 99.99 percent-guaranteed infrastructure uptime, access to technical support at priority SLAs, next business day or four-hour hardware replacement, and proactive monitoring. In addition, Adtran notes that the partner will still be able to maintain the customer relationship and sell the services deal.

ProCloud Private Label is the second ProCloud model, and this focuses on solution providers that already have, or are looking to release their own managed services practice. Through this, Adtran will offer hosting, and the partner will place its own brand on the infrastructure-as-a-service provision and can deal with the management of that by itself.

Lattanzi commented: “In this case, it's an opportunity for the partner to avoid an investment in infrastructure and setting up a data center and that kind of thing, but still allows them to manage their end customers' networks to whatever degree they see fit. They can completely customize that offering. We are just the hosting provider.”

The ProCloud service is paid for on an annual subscription basis, but the monthly-model will be considered by the company, according to Lattanzi.

Adtran’s multi-tenant Bluesocket virtual WLAN (vWLAN) solutions are the basis for the new ProCloud services, and this virtualize control planes by allowing the management of wireless infrastructure. The vWLAN product was included in its portfolio in 2011, as a result of the acquisition of Bluesocket. (CY) Link
