Plantronics Launches New Headsets and Digital Processors by Robbie Pleasant
Plantronics has announced a new family of headset solutions, made for contact centers and designed to provide comfort, clear calls, and reliability. In this new series, the Plantronics EncorePro 500 Series, is marketed toward Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), and boasts smart firmware and a variety of controls and features.
The Plantronics EncorePro 500 Series was designed for the CSR. Its physical design is made to be ergonomic, durable, lightweight, and comfortable, so that CSRs can keep the headset on for as long as they need, for call after call. It offers noise-canceling technology, keeping background noise out and making the calls more clear.
The models offered in the series are the EncorePro 510/520 for an over-the-head design, EncorePro 530 for an over-the-ear model, and EncorePro 540, which can switch between the two designs. All of them support wideband audio, though some offer controls such as call answering and volume adjustment. Each device has firmware, which creates notifications based on the hardware state changes.
In addition, Plantronics has also announced new DA Series USB digital audio processors for their headsets. With these, the headsets can connect to computers through the USB port, providing user controls and “Noise @ Work,” which protects CSRs from sounds above 118 dBA and offers anti-startle protection.
“Contact centers are responding to rising customer expectations – new contact methods, better self-service, knowledgeable agents, context awareness, and more,” says Don Van Doren, UC Expert for UCStrategies. “Companies need to equip their centers with tools to make it easier for agents to meet these requirements. Comfortable headsets with advanced functionality are an important part of that equation, and Plantronics is addressing these needs with the EncorePro 500 series.”
The EncorePro 540 and 530 models are available now, with the 510 and 520 models to be made available in December. The DA-80 USB Digital Audio Processor will also be made available in December.
