Cloud IT management company Panorama9 Inc. announced the release of their Perfect Pager tool in January 2013. In a bid to make IT and security support more personal, the tool enables IT managers to choose a human call to alert them of consumer network problems as soon as they arise. Although Panorama9 has long-term experience at supporting text and email updates, Perfect Pager takes this to the next level.

Perfect Pager provides a subscription-based cloud IT management service that has the flexibility to follow information related to computers, Web applications, users and software. The tool is comprised of a security alert and asset management features. It functions by sending a call to IT administrators or solution providers to notify them when and where a service or server is down. It also enables users to build multiple-number phone lists matching the right contact person with a specific security situation. If the call is not answered by the first person, Panorama9 goes down the list until someone responds.

The tool is also useful for service and solution providers because it arms them with the capability to catch network issues that may otherwise have gone unnoticed, and respond to them immediately. Panorama9’s solution has a single-pane Web dashboard allowing IT managers and solution providers a detailed view of their client’s IT environment and security status. Similar to other cloud-based management solutions, this tool’s console enables the launch of multiple services related to compliance, vulnerability monitoring and network management, from one place.

“When something in the network is misfiring, you want to know as soon as possible with as much detail as possible. Perfect Pager is unique since it’s not an automated message. You hear directly from a live person who knows all the available information on the problem,” said Allan Thorvaldsen, CEO and co-founder of Panorama9.

One of Panorama9’s stand-out qualities is its flexibility in catering to Linux, Mac OS X, Windows and mobile platforms. In 2012, the company launched a patch management tool for the Mac OS X platform; more releases are due to follow in 2013 as Panorama9 builds on its multi-platform capabilities. New users can sign up for a 30-day free trial and access Perfect Pager within five minutes.

San Francisco-based Panorama9’s release follows its acquisition of $900,000 in seed funding from private Danish investors. The money will be used to expand the company’s features and increase sales force. (CU) Link
