Rackspace Hosting is broadening the reach of its cloud network, following announcements made recently. The company is set on developing and operating public clouds on their OpenStack system service providers, as a result of its new global program.

The CEO for Rackspace, Lanham Napier, said: “The creation of this network allows for different providers, in different regions, with different service characteristics to link together to better serve the cloud users around the world with a fully interoperable global ‘cloud of clouds.’ Rackspace is passionate about leading this charge and helping service providers capitalize on the expanded network to better serve their customers.”

Large service providers and telco companies are the key targets for the new program, and access will be given to Rackspace tech, including Cloud hardware and software with automated testing and updates from the Rackspace team. Furthermore, Rackspace sales and marketing support, customer references, infrastructure monitoring and patching services, as well as use of the program’s interconnected data center network to offer services, will be made available to global partners from wherever they choose.
