At the start of the week, it was announced that Motorola Solutions WLAN Cloud Services will be included in the portfolio of a division of ScanSource, Inc., ScanSource POS & Barcode, which will be distributing the cloud service to their customers. ScanSource thus becomes the first Motorola Value-Added Distributor that is set to offer the WLAN Cloud solution suite.
In a press release, the president of ScanSource POS & Barcode, Paul Constantine, stated: “In support of the burgeoning wireless and mobility market, we recently announced MobilETC, a comprehensive mobility education, training, certification and partnering program for our reseller partners that are looking to sell, deploy and support mobile solutions. Motorola’s WLAN Cloud Services will be a pivotal part of this program.”
He added: “There is tremendous opportunity for resellers employing a Solutions-as-a-Service delivery model, and we look forward to helping them grow that business with this new solution offering.”
The Motorola WiNG controller, WLAN Network Assurance, Wireless Intrusion Prevention and WLAN Planner are the specific WLAN Cloud Services being provided via ScanSource. Through a hosted controller, WLAN network support can therefore be given to ScanSource resellers and cloud-based wireless alternatives can be distributed to the company's end-users. (CY) Link
