Mitel’s MiVoice Office Provides Choices for SMBs by Robbie Pleasant

Small and medium-sized businesses are often in need of communication products that are both affordable and rich in features, creating a demand that many companies struggle to properly meet. Mitel, however, feels its MiVoice Office can succeed there, as it has doubled its integrated features while decreasing the price.

The Mitel MiVoice Office is a scalable unified communications solution that can support up to 250 users. It can support multiple sites through networking, allowing more users to join in on the communication experience. The solution can be used right out of the box, providing productivity enhancement features such as unified voice messaging, audio conferencing, teleworker support, and other similar features designed for communication.

Mitel notes that one of the main appealing features of MiVoice Office is the choice it offers. It does not require the cloud or a subscription, so customers can use the features they want without being forced into any paths or tools they don’t want or need.

There is a variety offered. Employees can connect their desk phone with their mobile devices to never miss calls, and its embedded teleworking facility does not require a server or licensing, so remote employees can keep in touch with ease. It uses a standards-based architecture, so businesses can leverage their existing infrastructure without having to invest in a new one. The intent of MiVoice Office is to offer a cost-effective solution that lets SMBs provide quality service to their customers.

According to Blair Pleasant of UCStrategies, “Mitel is continuing its focus on ‘freedom’ and giving customers choice. While most competitors are steering small companies to cloud-based solutions, Mitel is emphasizing that some customers may not want to be forced to the cloud and want premise-based options.” She adds, “Mitel was one of the first companies to offer both hosted and premise solutions based on the same single software stream, giving customers a choice of deployment models, and continues to focus on this theme.”

It can be difficult to get a good grip in the SMB market, but Mitel is hoping that MiVoice Office will help it do just that. It is designed to meet the needs of small businesses, with a focus on the customer to give them a choice in features and tools. In order to maintain competitive, it is also offered at a price point that can be up to 15 percent less than its competition.
