Microsoft Expands FastTrack Services
Microsoft Expands FastTrack Services by Robbie Pleasant
The transition to Office 365 may not be the quickest or easiest process for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), but Microsoft is attempting to make it easier, with new additions to the Microsoft FastTrack service. Following a recent announcement, the service has been expanded to support more customers for longer stretches of time as they migrate to Office 365.
Microsoft FastTrack was initially an onboarding service, providing a one-time benefit to help businesses rollout Office 365. Following the recently announced changes, however, it’s become an ongoing benefit, so customers can receive help at any time during their subscription. The FastTrack onboarding services have also been expanded to include Enterprise Mobility Suite, Azure Directive Directory Premium, Azure Rights Management, and Intune.
Additionally, FastTrack now offers customized support and resources throughout the user’s subscription. For the envisioning process, it offers resources and tools to design a success plan for implementing and adopting the offered services. It offers personalized onboarding assistance to help the migration process, and aims to drive business value by offering customers guidance, resources, and the best practices for Office 365 adoption.
FastTrack services are available to Enterprise SKUs, paid Government and Education SKUs, Kiosk SKUs, and Nonprofit SKUs. The service was previously available to customers with at least 150 Office 365 licenses, but has been extended to provide support for customers with 50 to 149 seats.
“This is another fine example of what cloud-based communications providers are doing to assure adoption,” states Marty Parker, UC Expert for UCStrategies. “Since many cloud offerings are standard configurations intended for specific types of users, it is possible to create very effective user training and adoption support tools that will provide value for almost all subscribers. This is just one more reason why the leaders in cloud-based communications services (UC as a Service or UCaaS) are showing and will continue to show market growth.”
