Metaswitch Integrates Zoom Collaboration Capabilities into Unified Communications Suite by Robbie Pleasant

Metaswitch has announced new improvements and enhancements to its unified communications and collaboration solution, Accession. With these changes, it now includes integration with Zoom Video Communications for web and video conferencing capabilities.

The Zoom platform combines cloud video conferencing, online meetings, and group messaging. By combining this with Metaswitch’s Accession solution, Metaswitch can now offer video and web collaboration with the Accession Communicator, providing more ways for its users to communicate and work together.

Accession Communicator is a unified communications client for mobile and desktop users, offering voice, instant messaging, presence, and application integration for up to 50 attendees. Video and web collaboration were lacking, but that has been remedied with the new integration.

Zoom was chosen for the features it has to offer, as well as the company’s commitment to “technical excellence and industry-leading quality,” according to Measwitch’s senior director of product marketing, Chris Carabello.

According to Blair Pleasant of COMMfusion LLC and UCStrategies, “Video provides great value to Metaswitch’s service provider customers, who can increase revenues and share of wallet. Rather that going to a third-party provider such as WebEx or GoToMeeting, SMBs and enterprises can get a complete UC solution from Metaswitch’s service provider partners.” She adds, “What’s interesting about Metaswitch’s new video offer is that this is an integrated experience with their UC client, providing one-click uplift from IM to video, and changing a user’s presence status in the UC client to ‘in a meeting.’ In addition, users can invite people to participate in a video conference directly from their UC contact list.
