Juniper- Guavus Network Analytics Suite to Monitor Cloud and Mobile Traffic
Juniper- Guavus Network Analytics Suite to Monitor Cloud and Mobile Traffic by UCStrategies Staff
A joint Juniper Networks-Guavus suite of network intelligence tools, called the Junos Network Analytics suite, is set for release, and is to be targeted at service providers and network architects.
Guavus is a big data analytics provider, and the company’s big data-focused graphs and dashboards will merge with the network-monitoring capabilities of Juniper. This will ensure that service providers can have a more clued-in idea of traffic patterns across their IP or Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks.
The increasing number of cloud applications and mobile devices is creating strain on the network, and means that service providers need to find new ways to monitor traffic flows and maintain optimal performance.
The senior vice president of Juniper's Edge Software Business, Robert Krohn, noted: “It's no secret that service provider networks transport a lot of data, and it's growing every day. What may not be immediately obvious is how much data service provider networks generate. Every flow on the network, every customer, and every event – these are all data points, and important things for a network operator to understand.”
20 billion records can be created each day by global IP backbones (resulting in more than 1TB of raw disk a day), according to Krohn. He stated: “That means processing and analyzing that data, and then presenting insight in a timely fashion is no small feat. In fact until recently, it was nearly impossible.”
BizReflex is a network analytics engine and dashboarding tool, and NetReflex offers information on traffic trends across IP and MPLS networks; these are the first two products in the Juno Network Analytics suite.
BizReflex can be used by service providers like a dashboard, so that it is easier to understand how customers interact with their networks. It will also be possible to evaluate both edge and core routers. The BixReflex analytics engine is targeted at service provider “decision makers,” according to Juniper, and it will be possible to differentiate customers based on interactions with the networks, and price the services accordingly.
NetReflex is more suitable for network architects, and can be used to view traffic patterns, down to a link or interface level. Network architects will be able to view network capacity at its largest point, and will be able to divert and reroute traffic with this in consideration.
Krohn noted that the Junos Network Analytics suite will be able to aid Juniper partners in better targeting customers that are beginning to invest in big data solutions.
Krohn said: “Junos Network Analytics suite, a family of next-generation big data analytics and network intelligence solutions, provides new opportunities for partners to offer more competitive and complete networking solutions as they target customers looking to invest in big data solutions. Junos Network Analytics suite allows partners access to new software products that differentiate their offerings, in addition to the opportunity to provide management services that increase the revenue potential for partners.”
The Junos Network Analytics suite is able to support service providers specifically rather than the enterprise, and Juniper has a subset of its Partner Advantage program which means that partners can earn a Service Provider Infrastructure Partner specialization. (CY) Link
