Jenne Offers Avaya’s Scopia Training to Partners by UCStrategies Staff
Unified communications distributor Jenne, Inc., enables its partners by offering a new course centered on Avaya’s Scopia technology. Jenne, Inc. became a value-added distributor of the Scopia portfolio in September, so the addition of a Scopia training course at its Jenne University is only fitting.
With this recent initiative, Jenne partners will have access to training programs and certifications that meet the “requirements of the Authorized Avaya Learning Partner,” combined with Scopia support services that include configuration, installation, management of processes involved in contract renewal, and pre/post sales support.
Dubbed as “Avaya Scopia Solution for Video Communications,” the training program is scheduled to be held quarterly, with the first session set for January 21-25, 2013. Jenne University will offer the class at the company’s training facility in Avon, Ohio.
The January 2013 course will focus on providing IT managers and system engineers with an overview of the features and operations surrounding Scopia. The class will also touch on the installation and configuration of Scopia endpoints, creating and managing a conference, installation and configuration of the MCU, Scopia desktop, and Scopia Management Suite, and troubleshooting using component logs and network traces that involve “call failures, endpoint to MCU calls, point to point calls, PathFinder issues and video/audio issues.”
Avaya’s Scopia is a video conferencing technology portfolio from Radvision, a company acquired by Avaya in June 2012. And by October, in a move that can be seen as outright grabbing of UC space against its competitor, Polycom, Avaya has rolled out every Scopia specialization to its community of partners. Avaya’s tactical move is said to have been timely, what with Polycom equipping itself to deliver UC capabilities like the multi-platform CloudAXIS.
“Avaya’s Scopia videoconferencing solutions present an enormous opportunity for resellers serving all sizes of markets, and by offering these innovative products in combination with top-notch training through Jenne University, we are helping Avaya Connect partners take advantage of a business opportunity and to be more competitive,” said Jim Karaffa, director of training and technical services at Jenne, Inc.
“With its immediate stock availability, training offering and comprehensive product support, Jenne is able to offer a multi-dimensional Scopia solution,” said Karl Soderlund, vice president of America’s Channel Sales at Avaya. “Its new course on Scopia video conferencing will help Avaya Connect partners deliver an expanded range of high-quality communications experiences to their customers, while providing resellers new revenue opportunities through enhanced real time collaboration solutions.” (KOM) Link.
