Three key management positions have altered at Ingram Micro; the changes are expected to impact the consumer electronics business, mobility division, and leadership in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The new executive managing director of Ingram Micro U.K. and Ireland, Brent McCarthy, has previously led the distributor's consumer electronics business which was formerly titled DBL Distributing. McCarthy will now report to the regional vice president, U.K., Belgium and Netherlands, Johan Vandenbussche, with Ingram Micro EMEA.

Tom Bamrick, who joined Ingram Micro in 1994, previously served as executive director of Global Sales and East Campus, focusing on U.S.-based revenue generation and partner developments; he is now the head of the consumer electronics division. Bamrick also formerly held various key enterprise and commercial sales management and business development roles, and will now report to Brian Wiser, the senior vice president.

The president of Ingram Micro, Paul Bay, stated: “Both Brent and Tom have proven track records of delivering admirable results through unwavering partner commitment and a focus on operational excellence. They are seasoned and respected industry leaders, and we are confident they will deliver new growth and opportunity for our business. I will work closely with them over the first quarter of 2013 to ensure an appropriate and seamless transition for our customers, vendors and associates.”

The senior vice president of corporate strategic initiatives and partnerships for the Santa Ana, California-based Ingram Micro Mobility, Bashar Nejdawi, has now been promoted to fill the role of president at Ingram Micro North American Mobility, and will be reporting to Shailendra Gupta, the Senior Executive Vice President.

According to Gupta, “Bashar has worked extensively with the North America region and brings to his new role an ideal mix of experience in mobile distribution and manufacturing, as well as mobility services. This is a highly important region for Ingram Micro and we're confident in his ability to build on [the] good work and drive additional profitable growth throughout the region.”

The past experience of Nejdawi highlights 17 years at Motorola and the ability to command roles as president of BrightPoint's mobile enhancement business, where he was promoted to global executive and head of European Sales and Procurement. This was before moving to his current post. The new moves will prove crucial to the impact on the company's mobility business as Ingram Micro seeks to build more opportunities and growth.
