Hosted Private Cloud Services Expectations Announced By IDC by UCStrategies Staff

The results from IDC’s Worldwide Hosted Private Services 2012-2016 Forecast: New Models for Delivering Infrastructure Services report (undertaken in 2012) shows that the Hosted Private Cloud sector is anticipating its compound annual growth to reach 50 percent, which will mean that by 2016, the market will be worth $24 billion.

Dedicated Private Cloud and Virtual Private Cloud models are merged to create many Hosted Private Cloud offerings. Users will also be afforded overall control over their data, and this is being offered through the Dedicated Private Cloud model. On the other hand, the Virtual Private Cloud model is more similar to the public cloud, and this is presently being utilized by a variety of organizations. The Hosted Private Cloud is set to play the role of the framework for new infrastructure services, according to IDC.

The Research Vice President of SaaS and Cloud Services at IDC, Robert Mahowald, stated: “IDC anticipates that virtual private cloud will be the predominant operational model for companies wanting to take advantage of the speed and lower capital costs associated with cloud computing while cloud service providers will welcome the move away from the expense of dedicated 1:1 physical systems for delivering their business process and datacenter outsourcing and other services.” (CY) Link
