Dimension Data Completes Nexus Acquisition
Dimension Data Completes Nexus Acquisition by Robbie Pleasant
Dimension Data has made a new acquisition, with the complete purchase of Nexus, a privately-owned provider of advanced IT solutions. This increases Dimension Data’s operations in the US by 40 percent, and will help provide its clients with a wider portfolio of solutions, and a larger network of experts.
Nexus is known for its IT solutions for enterprises, mid-sized business, and public sector clients, particularly in the education, hospitality, healthcare, and retail industries. With this acquisition, Dimension Data not only has better presence in the US, particularly in the West, Southwest, and Southeast regions, but can also add new services and solutions, particularly in regards to collaboration, enterprise networks, security, and cloud spaces.
Although the exact cost of the acquisition has not been disclosed, Dimension Data has purchased 100 percent of Nexus, and is bringing the company’s 657 employees with it. Deron Pearson, CEO of Nexus, will continue to lead the Nexus business, but will report directly to Mark Slaga, CEO of Dimension Data Americas.
"Dimension Data's acquisition of Nexus gives Dimension Data Americas a strong, established platform to achieve its goal of delivering value to its clients," said Blair Pleasant, co-founder of UCStrategies. "The acquisition increases Dimension Data's geographic and talent base, providing for a cultural fit, and further expanding its presence in key verticals. Dimension Data has been focusing on both organic growth as well as through select acquisitions, with the right people and the right culture, and Nexus is a perfect fit. I believe this represents a win-win for both parties."
This news comes only a few months after Dimension Data’s acquisition of NextiraOne, which creates and supports business solutions and communications services for private and public sector clients, located around Europe. Now with Nexus, Dimension Data continues to expand, gaining a wider reach, along with all the solutions that Nexus provides.
The executives in both companies seem very satisfied with this acquisition, as it will allow both companies to reach a wider network of customers with their solutions and offerings. Dimension Data was included in the “Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces” earlier this year, which is good news for Nexus’ employees, who can rest assured that they will still have a place as part of Dimension Data.
