Dimension Data and EMC Create the Catalyst Alliance for Hybrid Cloud Deployments

Dimension Data and EMC have announced a new strategic market development initiative, which they are calling the Catalyst Alliance. It’s designed to accelerate the adoption of hybrid cloud for mid-sized enterprises, and will sell solutions that help clients see the value from hybrid cloud-based business strategies while adopting the new technology.

Both Dimension Data and EMC will be making investments through the Catalyst Alliance, jointly selling solutions that span private cloud for both on and off premises, as well as public and hybrid cloud. A team of sales, technical, and marketing specialists will help provide clients with the solutions best suited for their workloads and applications, and pricing models are based on storage, cloud, and managed services.

Of course, there is risk involved with adapting new technology, so the solutions from the Catalyst Alliance are designed to help manage said risk. It is designed to reduce the risk of disrupting IT operations, presumably with assistance from the team of specialists.

The aim of the Catalyst Alliance is to not only help clients transition to a hybrid cloud environment, but to understand the value of hybrid cloud. It will accelerate the time-to-value of the cloud, and also help companies put a solid cloud strategy into play.
