CompTIA Forum Established to Discuss Mobile Technology by UCStrategies Staff

The opportunities and challenges of mobile technology are set to be discussed via a new forum which has been established by CompTIA. The forum, called the “CompTIA Mobility Community,” will  have its first key meeting during the Annual Member Meeting held in Chicago, Illinois, on March 12-13.

The main aim of the CompTIA Mobility Community is to build a mobility roadmap which will be used in the analysis of present strengths and weaknesses within the mobile market. By setting up this community, CompTIA will be able to satisfy the increasing demands of organizations that are seeking more effective and safer mobility plans.

According to the company's website, members of the community will include executives of companies involved in the creation and delivery of mobile computing technologies. Group participants in the forum will include CEOs, owners, presidents or other C-level executives of SMBs, and VPs or directors (who have a responsibility towards mobile technologies) of larger companies within the IT channel.

The director of partner community for Level Platforms and chair of the CompTIA Mobility Community, Dave Sobel, stated: “Many businesses have embraced mobile devices as a way to make their employees more productive and to become more accessible to their customers. But devices are only a small part of a necessary mobile strategy that makes sense from both a financial and technology standpoint. The IT channel's leadership can and will help them address these issues.”

CompTIA additionally gives support to member communities such as cloud computing, IT security, IT services and support, managed services, the UK channel, unified communications and women in IT. (CY) Link
