Flowfinity Wireless, a mobile applications provider based in Vancouver, Canada, has reportedly become more interested in opening up cloud computing access to its customers.

In December last year, Flowfinity broadened the reach of its cloud services in order to meet the high demands from clients for hosted enterprise mobile application distribution.

This move comes as an enhancement to Flowfinity's existing hosting services which it has provided to customers using mobile applications for nearly a year. However, this recent move signifies a specific move in its Toronto and Vancouver data centers towards greater bandwidth and server and storage capacity.

According to the company's vice president of sales and marketing, Larry Wilson, Flowfinity is fast growing from enabling the installation of on-premise mobile applications to utilizing hosted services.

Wilson stated: “We've been receiving a high number of requests from our customers for their mobile apps to be hosted rather than installed, so we set up an environment to do it. We increased capacity, bandwidth and redundancy.”

Flowfinity is most comfortable in hosting providers for cloud services itself, rather than employing a third-party to implement that.

Wilson added: “We went beyond what would be expected for a hosted provider," Wilson said. "We set up our own data center operations, with two data centers 2,500 miles apart, with high capacity, and redundancy.”

Given the private nature of the company, Flowfinity does not disclose information on finances, but has stated that it has more than 200 customers in North America and Europe. (CY) Link
