Ingram Micro’s North America Services Division rolls out Cisco’s Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) to qualified Cisco partners based in Canada and the United States. The HCS addition is sold though the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. Ingram Micro is also partnering with the Advanced Services unit of Cisco to help partners during their HCS provisioning and deployment, as well as to provide management and technical support.

The addition of HCS expands Ingram Micro’s cloud offerings to its resellers. Moreover, HCS is touted to help Cisco partners launch an ongoing revenue stream. HCS is offered on a subscription-type as-a-service basis, which requires no upfront investment from Cisco channel partners.

Ingram Micro’s HCS offering includes various Cisco platforms, such as customer collaboration, unified communications, and WebEx. Tools used for automated configuration and service delivery to end users are also included in Cisco’s hosted collaboration solution.

“Cisco and Ingram Micro recognize the tremendous opportunity to offer cloud-based services through the channel as the demand for pay-as-you-go collaboration services grows,” said Richard McLeod, senior director of Worldwide Partner Collaboration Sales at Cisco. “This new HCS service allows Ingram Micro to add value by reducing complexity associated with building and selling cloud collaboration solutions. In addition, offering collaboration services through Ingram Micro's innovative Cloud Services Marketplace enables Cisco channel partners to provide choice to customers in terms of how they consume collaboration solutions, be it from the cloud, via a managed service, on premise or some combination.”

“By design, Ingram Micro's hosted HCS enables our mutual Cisco partners to successfully sell and deploy Cisco collaboration technologies and wrap additional services around these technologies to increase their value and recurring revenue potential,” said Renee Bergeron, vice president of managed services and cloud computing for North America Services Division at Ingram Micro.

The Cisco-powered cloud solution is set to be unveiled at Ingram Micro’s 2013 Cloud Summit to be held on April 7-10, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In related news, another division of Ingram Micro has expanded its portfolio. Ingram Micro Mobility partners with GLOBO, a company focusing on mobility management and telecom software. The resellers of Ingram Micro in North America may offer the plug-and-play platform, GO!Enterprise, which is marketed to business customers as “mobility in a box.” GO!Enterprise includes accounts for Microsoft Exchange, cloud hosting, collaboration applications, development studio for customized applications, Enterprise Mobility Management console for handling corporate assets, and file storage. GO!Enterprise’s SMB edition can support up to 150 devices, while the enterprise version is marketed through an annual licensing scheme. (KOM) Link. Link. Link.
