Cbeyond Launches TotalCloud
Cbeyond Launches TotalCloud by UCStrategies Staff
Cbeyond has been providing communications services for small to mid-sized businesses since 1999. This month Cbeyond launched its TotalCloud Phone System to the U.S. market. TotalCloud is a communication system designed for both single and multi-user enterprise. The service enables prioritized routing of voice traffic to a secure data center via Cbeyond's private IP network.
The phone system is designed to be beneficial for small- to mid-sized business users by reducing or eliminating the cost of equipment and support and labor costs that go hand-in-hand with customary premise-located communications systems. Data support is no longer tied to a geographic location and utilizes Broadsoft technology Managed Quality of Service. This allows smaller enterprise users to scale the system up or down depending on their current needs.
The TotalCloud Phone System features include:
The system also permits voice and data sharing across multiple geographic office locations and with remote workers. By allowing communication between employees, regardless of their locations, the service may also permit increased business continuity in such situations where weather conditions may ordinarily have caused disruptions.
According to Tim Myers, vice president of cloud engineering at Cbeyond, “Businesses require high-quality phone technology capable of growing with them while delivering low maintenance costs. TotalCloud Phone System provides the right combination of service, support, advanced technologies and cost-efficient deployment to make that happen.”
Cbeyond's new service has already been adopted by Texas-based American Innovations, who has been utilizing Cbeyond's applications for over a decade. Randall Chance, vice president of information technologies, American Innovations, commented, “We were able to increase bandwidth and fully support remote workers in Arizona, Colorado and Texas without having to make a significant capital outlay.”
Earlier in 2012, Cbeyond expanded its network by linking to technology partner BTI, in a bid to provide customers with a faster, more secure access to the latest technology, such as cloud-based services.
“The security, scalability and manageability of the network play an essential role in the migration to cloud services,” said Joe Oesterling, Executive Vice President, Technology and Operations at Cbeyond. “BTI impressed us with its software and open APIs, which integrate efficiently into our infrastructure and make it easier and faster to provision network services. We look forward to working closely with BTI as we further expand our network.”
Cbeyond offers a secure, privately managed IP network for connecting clients to enterprise, data and voice applications hosted at Cbeyond data centers. The recently released product also includes other useful VoIP services, such as Cbeyond's SIP trunking service, SIPconnect. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Cbeyond is currently serving around 60,000 customers. The company was awarded the Frost and Sullivan 2012 North American VoIP Access and SIP Trunking Services Competitive Strategy Leadership Award in November 2012. (CU) Link
