BroadSoft Rebuilds Identity and Releases New UC-One Capabilities by Robbie Pleasant

BroadSoft is revamping and recreating its corporate identity, with enhancements to its brand, strategy, and technology. The company has new strategic initiatives, designed to strengthen its UC-One Unified Communications services, and provide an improved user experience.

With a new corporate identity, BroadSoft is aiming to reinforce its commitment to its goals. The company is dedicated to simplifying, innovating, and accelerating the end-to-end user experience, so that service providers’ customers can work from anywhere on any device.

The new UC-One enhancements include productivity-enhancing capabilities and improvements to the user interface. It’s integrated with Apple iBeacon, so that devices identify the user’s location in a work environment, enabling users to select the best communication option. It also offers presence integration, thanks to a new Personal Assistant feature that can be controlled from the UC-One app.

In order to enhance group collaboration, the UC-One app also offers BroadSoft’s “My Room” group collaboration capabilities, enabling groups to meet in virtual rooms and share desktops and files, along with new capabilities such as integrated video conferencing and moderator controls. The WebRTC “My Room” also now offers the ability for external guest participants, making it easier to bring people in to the conference.

Additionally, BroadSoft has introduced BroadSoft Labs, an online environment made to make the development, deployment, and use of UC applications using WebRTC quicker and easier. It provides all the components that service providers need to develop new web communication applications, along with step-by-step wizards to make it easier to develop and implement the applications.

According to Blair Pleasant, co-founder of UCStrategies, “It’s exciting to see BroadSoft focus on the end-user experience, which is key to UC adoption, and to take a leadership role in WebRTC. The hosted UC market is becoming increasingly competitive, and the enhancements announced should benefit both Broadsoft’s service provider partners, and the partners’ end user customers.”

The enhancements are accessible across BroadSoft’s BroadWorks and BroadCloud platforms. With the technology enhancements, as well as the new corporate identity, BroadSoft’s goal to commit to improving the end-to-end user experience is clear.
