ALE Launches Targeted Sales Organizations and OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud 2.2 by Robbie Pleasant

ALE has introduced, under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, a new release of the Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud solution, which aims to help business partners move customers to the cloud. In addition, the company will also be forming new regional sales organizations.

ALE has announced the release of the OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud (OTEC) 2.2 solution. The latest edition of OTEC is designed to provide businesses with advanced communications capabilities with an improved user experience, and alleviate the burden on IT and network management. Through this, business partners can offer their customers an easy way to adopt cloud enterprise communications services, with an improved user experience and simplified IT.

There are a number of ways that OTEC 2.2 can benefit ALE Business Partners. As it is offered through the cloud, it requires no upfront investment, and its software license offer is available as a fully operational expenditure with per-user, per-month pricing. Business Partners can also better assess the infrastructure workloads and sizing requirements for their customers’ systems with an online quoting tool, and maintain low costs through a simplified price list and automated process.

OTEC 2.2 offers consumption-based telephony, Unified Communications, and applications for contact centers and specialized industry services. It offers a single application for managing communication interaction with third-party productivity suites, an automated attendant to manage incoming calls, Contactless Call Shift capability between smartphones and deskphones, and new video collaboration for small meeting rooms.

ALE is known for delivering a range of offerings, such as Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow, Network On Demand, and OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud. The recent enhancements to OTEC have also introduced a new communications suite for hospitality, called the Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Hospitality Cloud solution. This aims to improve guest experiences, by offering features such as simplified check-in, automated wake up calls, mobile guest softphone applications that lets guests use their devices as an extension of the room phone, and a connected room experience.

In addition to the latest release of OTEC, ALE is forming four new regional sales organizations, offering dedicated staff and individual sales strategies, in order to better serve its partners, customers, and markets. By consolidating the number of sales regions from eight to four, ALE can better scale its global channel resources.

The new regional sales organizations will focus on ALE’s key vertical markets: hospitality, healthcare, education, government, and transportation, with solutions tailored to these markets and related business processes. The organizations will also address the ever-increasing demand for IoT-enabled systems, and simplify the IT staff’s work at a lowered cost of business.

By offering a regional strategy, ALE aims to better serve its customers and channel partners by focusing on local trends and needs. No matter how connected the world has become, different regions and markets still have different needs, so tailored solutions are nearly always better than an attempt at “one size fits all.”

According to Blair Pleasant, co-founder of UCStrategies, “As enterprises increasingly embrace the cloud for UC and contact center solutions, channel partners need the right tools and services to help transition their businesses in order to be successful. By offering consumption-based business communications solutions, as well as tools such as the online quotation tool and simplified pricing, ALE can help its business partners thrive in the cloud economy.”
