8x8 Secures New Patent for Virtual Contact Center

UCC provider, 8x8, Inc. has been awarded by the United States Patent and Trademark Office with a new patent called Networked Contact Center, which is related to the company’s virtual contact center technologies. Issued on December 31, 2013, the Networked Contact Center patent involves, among many other things, a networked contact center that has several platforms for hosting multiple tenants.

The new 8x8 patent includes receiving a message connected to one of the tenants and pinpointing one or more of the platforms associated with the particular message, as well as enabling a networked contact center platform to gain access to a data location that is both associated with the tenant and shared by two or more multiple tenants.

This latest patent awarded to 8x8 was a continuation of patent number 8,275,116, which was granted to the company by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on September 25, 2012. Since 8x8’s establishment in 1987, the company has had 92 U.S. patents in the areas of processing, signaling, storage, voice and video communications technologies. (KOM) Link. Link.
