8x8 Expands UC Capabilities of Virtual Office Mobile for Android

8x8 unveils the latest version of its Virtual Office mobile PBX business phone solution for Android smartphones and tablets. Virtual Office Mobile 4.0 has expanded unified communications capabilities, such as video calling over 4G and Wi-Fi networks. Other new features include IM/presence, fax management, and visual voice mail.

With the Android edition of Virtual Office Mobile, users can place and receive calls from their 8x8 U.S.-based phone number over a Wi-Fi connection. This prevents incurring high roaming charges. In addition, users can access PBX features like call transfer, call parking, conference bridging, and four-digit extension dialing from the corporate directory.

Virtual Office Mobile 4.0 also shows voice mails in a scrollable list. This enables users to review then delete voice mail messages regardless of their order.

There is already an iOS version of 8x8 Virtual Office Mobile. The newly released Android edition is now available at the Google Play App store.
