Transcript for Innovation at ITExpo - Five9
Blair Pleasant: Hi, this is Blair Pleasant. I am at ITExpo in Las Vegas, with Tom Rocca from Five9. Tom is going to tell us a little bit about Five9 and some things that they have been doing lately.
Tom Rocca: Thank you so much. I am glad to be on your podcast. It’s a lot of fun. One of the biggest things that has happened for us in the last couple months, and you can look over my shoulder...we have introduced our new colors and our new logo. As you can see, obviously, Five9 is a cloud technology company. So we are excited about having that cloud now in our logo.
We are excited because what Five9 does a little bit different than a lot of the cloud platforms, especially around the contact center and the call center industry, is we actually are completely cloud. Everything we do is completely cloud from A to Z. We don’t have any servers, hardware, or anything. Everything is software so it is easy to deploy. And it is easy to also displace. We do a lot of work with a lot of the big outsourcing companies and with the big call centers. So it’s easy to bring on programs in the cloud.
Some of the things we specialize in are work-at-home agents. We do a lot of things on setting up programs very quickly for a lot of large organizations. And the big thing we are doing right now is a soft phone with the USB port headsets. So that also works out very well.
Other than that, we are excited to be at the TMC show here in Las Vegas. With everything coming out, more we’re getting ready for an exciting fourth quarter. 2014 brings a lot of exciting things for us. We’re working on partnerships with a lot of new companies. And you are going to see more about us coming around the corner. So I want to thank you for having me and talking to me today. I appreciate that.
Blair: So for channel partners that want to work with you, what would you say is your differentiation?
Tom: Well the big thing for us is we just about integrate with everybody. So it’s really nice – people work with us on a lot of different fronts. This has been a great show for us, for example. We have a lot of folks coming over here that spent time with us that actually do IVR platforms, or different kinds of other software that would interlink with our call center platform. And we can actually do a lot of things when it comes to online training and so on, so a handful of products and a handful of things. This show has been good not only for customers, but also for partners. Thank you for asking that.
Blair: And for end users that are considering moving to the cloud, why would you say Five9?
Tom: Well the big thing for us is for the end user, it’s easy deploy. You can pay as you go. A lot of folks sometimes, as you know, as you are building call centers and so on, even maybe a five or six people on the phone all the way to 20 people on the phone, all the way to 1,000 people on the phone. With us, it’s kind of nice. You can start off small, grow the product, and you can actually take the software and expand it and so on. And then you can also go backwards a little bit. Say for some reason your product is seasonal, that actually works out real well where we do a lot of catalog work for someone where an off season product, you can actually take your 75 reps, take them back down to 30 reps to get you through the year. And so it is very flexible as well. So the end user really enjoys that piece of it.
Blair: Okay. Well thanks so much.
Tom: You are welcome.
