What makes the post remarkable is not what it announces but what it confirms: cross-conversation profiling, human reviewers reading user chats, and a referral pipeline that bypasses any external oversight. And the timing is no accident.

Stripped of its careful language, the OpenAI blog describes a four-layer pipeline. Automated classifiers continuously scan conversations for signals tied to potential harm.
